Decentralize the web with Diaspora — Kickstarter

Check this out. 4 guys and a dream to create a solution that doesn't require you to put all of your personal information out in the cloud... Great idea and worth some support. I chipped in 3 days ago when they had 1000~ pledges totaling around $24k~. Now they have 4000+ supporters and over $100k.

Interesting thoughts on Facebook. Take a look at the comments as well. "If" it sticks around for the longer haul, it will be something for the non-techs to use rather than building a website or a blog of some sort. I can't stand it any more personally. It's flooded with crap, stupid games, spam and now viruses. What fun...
